Stripcut paper shredders, also known as straight cut paper shredders, are the least secure type of paper shredders. A strip cut paper shredder uses rotating knives to cut narrow strips as long as the sheet of paper being shredded.
Strip cut paper shredders produce long strips of shreds with a preset width anywhere from 1/8 to 1/4 inch; however, these strips can be reassembled since this type of shredder is the least randomized. Strip-cup paper shredders also create high volume waste since the largest surface area is not compressed.
